Parallel Cases Biennale Award
A special award, the Parallel Cases Biennale Award, initiated by the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and Urban Design, is associated with the Parallel Cases exhibition.
During the opening, an international panel of judges chaired by the Chief Government Architect Liesbeth van der Pol announces the winner of the award, based on the entry that offers the best, most inventive and creative approach to the challenge of shaping the Open City. In addition to Van der Pol, the jury consist of Floris Alkemade (architect), Emiliano Gandolfi (curator and critic), Dieter Läpple (professor regional and urban economics, HafenCity University Hamburg), and Lars Lerup (professor of architecture and Dean of Rice University, Houston).
